Cathy'sCherokee KennelsCherokee Kennels began in 1988 with our very first Rottweiler, a rescue bitch named "Kiwi." She fuelled my passion for the breed, and I began to study and research the Rottweiler breed in earnest. My search for a show quality bitch eventually led me to Lori Gach's Vanlare Rottweilers in Cummings, Georgia. Lori was to become my breeder mentor and very dear friend. My foundation bitch was whelped in June of 1994, a grand-daughter of the famous Pomac's Lexa P Vanlare, and sired by CH Champ Vom Vilstaler Land. Lori trusted me with pick bitch on a co-ownership, and we were on our way. "Jessie," (V1 Vanlare's Idgie Threadgoode) was everything I'd hoped she'd be. And she's given us two fine litters. Three of her "B" litter boys will be showing at this year's Nationals: Cherokee's Bigtown Bookie, Cherokee's Bulli Wulli, and Ja-Nel's Badd Moon Riz'n We are dedicated to breeding for excellent temperament, soundness, working ability, conformation and type. We have only bred 3 litters to date, and are very pleased with our "B" litter, especially. We are currently participating in several Rottweiler Health Studies and we do rescue triage as well. My 14 year old son, Will, and our 4 Rotties and 3 Aussies enjoy life on 300 acres of Walker Mountain in the beautiful Rogue River valley of Southern Oregon. JumpOff Joe Creek is their swimming hole and the woods are their playground. I hope you enjoy the photos of some of our Rott-n-kids.
