People Looking For A Rottweiler

So you've read all the right books, spoken to family, friends, breeders and vets, and you are sure that the Rottweiler is the perfect dog for you and your family.

The next step is to decide whether you want to approach a breeder or a rescue.
There are many advantages to both but, in the end, it will need to be a carefully thought through decision on your part.

A puppy/dog from a breeder will have a background you can check, probably a pedigree (although not always the case - some 'pet only' examples will only be released to you without papers), and you will probably be able to meet the parents.
The 'downside' of a puppy, though not everyone would agree, is that they are to housebreak, train and go through that awkward 'try your teeth out on everything and everyone' stage. They DO usually grow out of it!

A puppy/dog from rescue may have behavioural problems - simply arising from his treatment in the past. He, also, may need housebreaking, training, etc
But, they usually make very loving pets - there are numerous instances of people who rescue commenting that these dogs seem to 'know' that you have given them a second chance and they love you all the more for it. They quite often become almost your shadow!

There are many breeders and rescue people on both lists and, hopefully, we may be able to match you with the 'perfect' Rottweiler!
